Dear Wild Finca Community,

Spring is most definitely in the air here at Wild Finca (even if the distant Picos are covered in snow!) We now have three Grasshopper Warblers across the land, and the other day whilst walking a horse I (Katie) nearly walked straight into a Short-toed Eagle, hovering above our field in search of snakes. I might be exaggerating a bit but it really did feel very close! And did you hear about our badgers?!? We went to check the camera at the cave the other day only to find the batteries were completely dead. When we watched back what it had captured, we were treated to two hours straight of badger love-making, followed by a short break and then a further hour of action! We thought this must be some sort of world record but apparently this is, although on the longer end, not unusual for badgers.

​Happy World Rewilding Day!

As well as today being World Rewilding Day it is also (according to our diary) the first day of Spring! What are your plans for it? We have a fence on newly acquired land, that we will be taking down!

Bug Art Competition!​
Things are heating up for our Bug Art Competition which will be launching on Friday 28th May, in time for the Easter Holidays! Not only do we have some incredible prizes lined up (Leica have generously donated a Leica Monovid) we also have some wonderful judges joining Lucy (The Little Adventures Of Erig The Earwig, illustrator), Luke, Roan and Albus (as the Wild Finca reps). So watch this space as we announce those!
